The quality of the tactile switch

Common problem of tact switch 1: The cover comes off and falls

During the production process, the lid with the customer response switch may leak. Why did the switch cover come off when it was good? First of all, we need to understand the structure of the switch. The cover of the switch is placed on the back. This is a production process that has not changed for thousands of years. Those who are familiar with it will find that the cover is fixed by four rivet points on the base. As long as these four rivet points are loose or the rivet points shrink or deform after high temperature, the cover will fall off. To prevent the cover, just pay attention to the following two issues. The first base must be made of heat-resistant material, and the second riveting point must be riveted and fixed. If the above two issues are done well, this problem will be perfectly solved.

Common problem of tact switch 2: No conduction when pressed

Many consumers often find that when using a product, the buttons do not respond when pressed. They have to press very hard for the product to respond functionally. Because our switches are exposed to the air, many finished products are not sealed, and consumer electronic products require heat dissipation. In humid weather, the shrapnel of the switch is easily oxidized. After oxidation, the contact performance is not as good as before, which means there is a problem of no conduction when lightly pressed. Many consumers have also disassembled the switch and found that there is a small black spot on the shrapnel. This small black spot is the oxidation effect of the shrapnel. Therefore, it is recommended that electronic products that we do not usually use should be placed in a relatively dry place, as prepaid electronic parts will be oxidized.

Common problem of tact switch 3: The resistance value is too high

At present, many customers do not know much about the resistance value of switches. Generally, the resistance value of our switches is controlled below 30mΩ, so that the contact performance and life of the switch are very good. However, some switches have passed furnace temperature and life tests. The resistance value is high. What impact will high resistance have on the switch? If the resistance is high, it means that the contact area between the switch's shrapnel and PIN pin is small. The small contact area will cause the switch to not make contact. Once there is no contact, the switch will be defective. Therefore, everyone must treat the resistance issue of the switch carefully. The shrapnel and PIN pins have relatively high requirements for electroplating. If the electroplating is good, the resistance value will be low. After the switch undergoes a life test, the surface of the spring plate will be worn. If the plating is thin, the resistance will be high, and the switch will be defective.

Frequently Asked Question 4: of Tactile Switch: Cannot be pressed after passing through the furnace

A good switch cannot be pressed after being reflowed, which is very pitiful. Many customers have also reported this problem, so what caused it? The chip switch is closely connected to the PCB, and the PIN pins are covered with solder paste. If the holes of the steel mesh are slightly larger, the solder paste will easily flow into the inside of the switch. If there are foreign objects inside the switch, it will definitely affect its stroke. The most common one is that it cannot be pressed. Another situation is that the sealing performance of the switch is not good, and the flux flows into the inside of the switch, causing problems.
