It costs so much to join the USB-IF Association

As major international brands have successively supported the USB Type-C interface, USB Type-C has become the new darling of the market. To become a USB Type-C qualified product, it must pass the USB certification and obtain the right to use the USB logo. Ya'an Technology explained in a simple way how to obtain the right to use the USB logo.

First of all, manufacturers must obtain the Vendor ID from the USB-IF before developing USB products. Vendor ID can be obtained through the following two methods:

1. Become a USB-IF member and pay the annual fee of US$4,000, you can get the vendor identifier for free

2. Non-USB-IF members need to pay a fee of US$5,000 to obtain the vendor identifier. In addition, you need to pay another US$3,500 to obtain the right to use the USB logo. This fee is 2 years (if you are a USB-IF member, this fee will not be charged).

Then, if you want to become a USB-IF member, you need to sign back the membership agreement and submit it to admin@usb.org or mail it to USB-IF. In addition, it is also necessary to fully understand the following three documents but do not need to sign back.
