UL Wire Surface Printing Science Encyclopedia

When you get a data cable, how to judge whether it conforms to UL or the standard is the first thing to look at the printing on the surface of the wire, and you can also trace it back to the manufacturer according to the content of the printing. Today, lets get to know the printing on the surface of the wire. Welcome to share, exchange and supplement.

Brother: There are three types of UL safety certification: accreditation, listing, and grading. The three ways of marking are different. The most well-known service in UL safety certification. Recognized safety standards have tested the samples, and under reasonable and foreseeable conditions, the samples will not cause fire, electric leakage and related hazards.

AWM: AWM electronic wire standard is actually an earlier cable standard of UL company. UL758 is based on this standard. All electronic wire specification requirements can be queried on the corresponding page number.

1533: Represents the code of the UL product in the UL758 file. You can find the relevant specification design based on the code, which is the 1533 page in the AWM standard.

E201479: UL certification file number, you can find the corresponding manufacturer on the UL website.

80: The rated temperature required by UL758 for this wire.

300V: The rated voltage required by UL758 for this wire.

22AWG: The conductor specification of this wire.

VW-1: For detailed explanation, please refer to this article: Introduction to UL flame retardant grades.

CSA: Licensed by CSA International.

TYPE: The product model mark applied by CSA cannot be used without CSA product authorization.

LL114039: Certificate number issued by CSA certification body.

A/B: CLASS I: Internal wiring, CLASS II: External wiring

A and B are the contents of CUL certification. GROUP A: electronic wire; GROUP II: motor electrical wire. A certification means that the wire cannot withstand mechanical wear; B certification means that the wire can withstand mechanical wear. Abrasion; A/B certification means that the wire can withstand mechanical abrasion or not.

I/II: GROUP A: electronic wire; GROUP II: motor electrical wire

I and II are CUL certified contents. The I certification means that the cable can be used for internal wiring, the II certification means that the cable can be used for external wiring, and the I/II certification means that the cable can be used. For internal or external wiring.

FT-1: CSA flame resistance grade, (also FT2, FT3, FT4, FT5, FT6, etc.)

-F-: The fire protection level test requirements issued by the Japan JQA Association. If you want to export to the Japanese market, you need to obtain JQA certification, which includes -F- fire protection level certification. Its test requirements are lower than those of VW-1 and FT-2 test. The requirements are basically the same. Lesson 30 [UL Flame Retardant Standards for Cables].
